Plainfield Pride Fest: Pride-O-Ween

Plainfield Pride's 2026 Pride Fest, Pride-O-Ween, is a Halloween-themed community celebration at Bott Park. It includes live entertainment, food trucks, craft vendors, local nonprofits, drag performances and a family area with face painting and games. Plainfield Pride also runs a youth center and a young adult Pride group.

Plainfield Pride was started by Jes, a community and political activist with a background in political science and LGBTQIA+ studies, to give local LGBTQIA+ people an advocate, educate neighbors and businesses, and push for representation and acceptance in local schools. Its board also includes Christina Ross, an entrepreneur focused on human rights and mental health awareness. The group works through advocacy, education on inclusive language and culture, events and support services.

Pride-O-Ween runs from noon to 6 p.m. at Bott Park, 24550 W. Renwick Road, and guests are encouraged to come in costume. Entry is a suggested $10 donation that funds the group's year-round advocacy, youth services and community programming. Yard games, activities and crafts run all afternoon, while local ally and LGBTQIA+ businesses and area nonprofits have booths until 5 p.m. The group also shares a list of ally and LGBTQIA+-owned businesses and restaurants.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.
