Truckee Pride Week

Truckee Pride Week is a nine-day series of Pride events in Truckee and the north Lake Tahoe area. 2026 was its third annual Pride week.

Truckee Pride is a grassroots, volunteer-run 501(c)(3) that aims to make everyone feel safe, supported and welcome in the Truckee-Tahoe area, noting that rural towns and outdoor spaces have not always accepted queer people. It relies entirely on volunteers and sponsors, and its lead organizer is David Mack.

Pride Week, held the first week of June, has grown from a handful of events in 2024 to roughly 40, ranging from family-friendly and outdoor outings to wellness, arts and nightlife. Events are hosted by community members, and anyone running a welcoming LGBTQ+ event can add it to the calendar. The group also holds events through the year, such as a Halloween drag brunch at Alibi Ale Works.

Most events are within Truckee town limits, where the free TART Connect shuttle runs from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and about 26 miles of paved bike and walking paths reach most venues. Visit Truckee-Tahoe has offered a $100 gift card to visitors who book two or more nights during Pride Week.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

Truckee Pride Week has included pride week, film night and social events.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held May 30 to June 7, 2026. It usually falls late May to early June.
