Golden Valley Pride Festival

Golden Valley Pride is an annual festival at Brookview Park in Golden Valley, west of Minneapolis. Organizers say it was the first suburban Pride festival in Minnesota when it began on June 12, 2016. The 2026 festival marked its tenth year.

The festival is run entirely by volunteers as a nonprofit event, and there is no fee to attend. It draws people from Golden Valley, the surrounding western metro communities and across the Twin Cities. The first festival drew more than 3,000 people, and recent years have welcomed more than 9,000 attendees and over 130 exhibitors. Organizers note that Golden Valley has more LGBTQ households per capita than any other city in Minnesota.

The 2026 festival ran from noon to 6 p.m. on June 13. It featured musical and artistic performances on two stages, a beverage garden with beer, wine, ciders and seltzers from local businesses, and family activities including bouncy houses, games and the Brookview Playground. ASL interpretation was provided by Minnesota Deaf Queers.

Exhibitors range from local businesses to community groups, congregations, schools and city departments, including OutFront Minnesota, Gender Justice, the Quatrefoil Library, the Twin Cities Gay Men's Chorus, the Golden Valley Historical Society and the Golden Valley police and fire departments.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 13, 2026. It usually falls second Saturday in June.
