Buffalo Pride Parade and Festival

Buffalo Pride weekend opens with a street festival on Allen Street in the Allentown neighborhood with artists, vendors, a sober space and performances. The next day the Pride Parade steps off at Elmwood and Forest Avenues and travels along Elmwood Avenue.

Buffalo Pride focuses on the history and culture of LGBTQIA2S+ people in Buffalo and Western New York, and its programming stretches through June and beyond. Along with the parade, the organization runs a Community Calendar that gathers Pride Month events from across the region, including food, arts, music, nightlife, memorials and meetups. Groups can submit their own affirming events to the calendar.

The 2026 parade theme was Rooted in Pride, inviting marchers to reflect on the history, resistance and joy that ground the local community. Parade judges hand out awards in five categories: Werk of Art for the most imaginative presentation, Queen City Realness for the entry that best brings Buffalo's queer history to life, Ate, No Crumbs for fashion, Period. for the most powerful message, and Iconic Behavior for the best tribute to a queer icon. The parade steps off at 11 a.m., and organizers offer text message updates on parade day.

An ADA-accessible viewing area for seniors and people with disabilities is set up at the Burchfield Penney Art Center at 1300 Elmwood Avenue. Visitors can enter the Buffalo State campus via Iroquois Drive and park in lot I30, then follow signs, or be dropped off at Rockwell Road near the barricades.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 6-7, 2026. It usually falls first weekend of June.
