Babylon Pride Parade

The Babylon Pride Parade travels along Deer Park Avenue and Main Street in Babylon Village on Long Island. The organizing group also funds annual scholarships and community grants. 2026 was the seventh annual parade.

Babylon Village Pride started in 2020 as a way to bring people together during the pandemic. The first celebration, on June 28, 2020, was organized through social media with help from the local chamber and businesses and drew more than 500 people. Working with the organization Hope Floats, the group expanded its outreach with a lawn sign campaign, and the 2021 event featured a 40-car parade with more than 1,500 attendees.

Attendance kept growing. Members of the Pit Crew from RuPaul's Drag Race helped open the third season, the celebration later passed 4,700 people with support from more than 45 sponsors, and in 2024 it welcomed over 5,000, earning a proclamation from Mayor Mary Adams and the Village of Babylon. With help from Hope Floats, the organization then became an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

Beyond the parade, the group has introduced support groups and resources for LGBTQ+ youth and families in the Babylon schools. Its scholarship program for LGBTQ+ students and active allies has awarded more than $20,000, and its grant program supports grassroots projects, school initiatives, artists and community leaders working to create safer spaces.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 7, 2026. It usually falls first Sunday in June.
