Carrboro Pride Celebration

Carrboro's Pride celebration is held by the Town of Carrboro with El Centro Hispano at the Town Commons. The 2026 event on June 26 started with the Pride Piper Walk down Weaver Street, followed by food trucks, drag performances, music, dancing, kids crafts and resource tables, with a focus on the local Latinx LGBTQ community.

The Carrboro celebration is one piece of Small Town Pride, a month of events that the towns of Carrboro and Chapel Hill organize with local businesses, artists, volunteers and community partners. The town says its Pride Month events affirm that every resident should be treated with respect and dignity regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. In 2026 the Carrboro Pride Dance Party merged with Orgullo Latinx, El Centro Hispano's celebration, and became the Fiesta del Orgullo de Carrboro.

The walk begins at El Centro Hispano on West Weaver Street, where local officials help roll a Rainbow Ram down the street to the Town Commons on West Main Street. The evening party that follows includes tables offering social, health care and advocacy resources, and groups interested in tabling can connect through El Centro Hispano. Other Small Town Pride events in 2026 included a Ride Into Pride gathering at the Town Commons and a Chapel Hill Pride Promenade on Franklin Street with speakers, art vendors and performances.

Carrboro has free two-hour parking in 11 public lots, including the deck at the Drakeford Library Complex on South Greensboro Street, reached from Roberson Street. The town notes that the Carr Mill Mall lots are for mall customers only and cars left there may be towed.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 26, 2026. It usually falls late June.
