Cary Pride in the Park

Pride in the Park is Cary's free, family-friendly Pride celebration at Downtown Cary Park. The 2026 edition on June 13 ran from 4 to 10 p.m. with a Pride art cart, a night market of LGBTQ+ artisans and allies with food and drinks, and a silent disco on the Great Lawn.

Pride in the Park is the closing celebration of a month of Pride programming from the Town of Cary. The town partners with AARP North Carolina and the Carolina Aging Alliance, which serves LGBTQ+ adults 50 and older, as part of its commitment as an AARP Age-Friendly Community, with the goal of making sure people of every age feel welcome.

At the park, the Art Cart in the Nest Pavilion offers themed crafts for all ages during the early evening. The Night Market Co. organizes the market, which features locally made goods from Triangle-area LGBTQ+ artisans and allies along with food, drinks and entertainment.

Other June events around downtown include a Hall of Artists display on LGBTQ+ artists from the Cary Visual Arts Education Program, a Pride book cart with bean bag chairs at the Cary Arts Center, an interactive exhibit where visitors add to a shared mural about what they are proud of, and a large Pride mural on the outside wall of BREW Coffee on Chatham Street. Pride colors also light up the Cary Arts Center, Downtown Cary Park, the Cedar Street parking deck and the Cary Theater marquee for much of the month.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

Cary Pride in the Park has included art cart, pride night market and silent disco.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 13, 2026. It usually falls mid-June.
