Equality Fest

Equality Fest is an all-day outdoor LGBTQ+ festival on the Midland Greenway in Gainesville, Georgia, in Hall County. It features music, drag performances, art, activism and local vendors, and uplifts LGBTQ+ and minority voices. The 2026 festival was its second year.

Equality Fest is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Gainesville, Georgia. It was founded on the idea that people may be different but are created equal, and it focuses on creating a supportive environment for LGBTQ+ people and other marginalized groups in Gainesville and beyond.

Beyond the festival itself, the organization plans workshops and other community events aimed at inclusion, advocacy and education. It also commits to giving its profits at the end of each year to local charities, and it recruits volunteers who want to put their time and skills toward the cause.

The founder has described the group as a space for collaboration, growth and advocacy, with a long-term goal of making Gainesville and the state of Georgia more equitable. Volunteers, supporters and partner organizations are all invited to get involved.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held September 12, 2026. It usually falls mid-September.
