Grand Haven Pride Festival

The Grand Haven Pride Festival is a day-long celebration at Lynn Sherwood Waterfront Stadium on the Grand Haven waterfront. It offers live entertainment, a market of more than 60 local vendors, a food court, and kids' activities. The 2026 festival was the fourth annual edition, organized by the nonprofit Grand Haven Pride, which was founded in 2023.

Grand Haven Pride started as a group of strangers who shared the goal of bringing the first Pride festival to Grand Haven. It has since become a federally recognized nonprofit with programming throughout the year, built on the idea that queer people in the Tri-Cities area deserve to live proud and visible lives. Its committees meet regularly to plan ways to make this part of Ottawa County more inclusive, and the group is supported by sponsors, monthly donors and sales of inclusion signs and decals.

The festival opens at noon with a short ceremony that looks back at the organization's history and ahead to its plans. DJ DigiMark, a longtime presence in the Midwest club and LGBTQ+ scene, plays through the day, and a drag show hosted by Veronica Scott and DeeDee Chaunte features several local queens. A free photo booth sends pictures digitally.

The Kids' Zone has included a story time from Loutit District Library, presentations from Blandford Nature Center, crafts such as pet rock adoption, pinwheel decorating and bracelet making, a bounce house, face painting and yard games. The Pride Market highlights LGBTQ+ business owners and artists alongside community resources, with an emphasis on local makers and small businesses, and the day relies on about 100 volunteers.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 13, 2026. It usually falls second Saturday of June.
