Half Moon Bay Pride

Half Moon Bay Pride, organized by the nonprofit CoastPride, features a parade down Main Street followed by a festival at Mac Dutra Plaza with live performances and vendors. 2026 was its sixth annual celebration.

Half Moon Bay Pride is produced by CoastPride, an organization founded by community members in San Mateo County to improve support, visibility and awareness for LGBTQ people and families. Its focus is the Coastside, from Pacifica to Pescadero, and it works with schools, nonprofits, faith communities, businesses and civic leaders to bring education, training, mental health support, social services and wellness events to the coast, with particular attention to vulnerable youth.

The festival at Mac Dutra Plaza opens at 11:30 a.m. with vendors and resource tables, followed by live music, drag performances, food, a family fun zone, local vendors and nonprofit resources. A later gathering at the Cantina at the San Benito House on Main Street has featured lotería, performances by Bella Aldama and Lady Adjacent and a set by DJ Ambrozia, with a suggested donation of 10 dollars in advance or 15 dollars at the door.

CoastPride is led by executive director Laura, an educator and nonprofit leader with more than 28 years of experience in LGBTQIA+ equity and youth well-being. Programs director Mimir Castro, a Pacifica resident who joined in May 2025, previously ran a statewide Mental Health First Aid program in Oklahoma and focuses on connecting people with mental health and substance use support.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 14, 2026. It usually falls mid-June.
