Pacifica Pride

Pacifica Pride, organized by CoastPride, features a car parade and a community festival. 2026 was its fifth annual celebration.

Pacifica Pride is one of several Pride events produced by CoastPride, a San Mateo County organization founded by local residents to improve support, visibility and awareness for LGBTQ people and families along the Coastside, from Pacifica to Pescadero. CoastPride partners with schools, nonprofits, faith communities and civic leaders on education, mental health support, social services and wellness programs, with a particular focus on vulnerable youth.

The day begins with a car parade. Participants gather in the Thistle and Tonic and Sharp Park Taproom parking lots to decorate their vehicles, with supplies provided by CoastPride, then drive the route before heading to the festival for music, food and community time.

Pacifica Pride sits within a full June calendar of CoastPride programming. Recent seasons have included a Show Us Your Pride night at a production of The Laramie Project, a concert by the Coastside Pride Chorus, a sponsored screening from Queer Women of Color Media Arts Project, a conversation on faith and LGBTQ+ identity in Half Moon Bay, reserved sections at San Francisco Giants and Valkyries games, a march in Pescadero and ally trainings on topics such as supporting someone who has just come out and using pronouns.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 6, 2026. It usually falls early June.
