Haverhill Pride Parade & Celebration

Haverhill Pride holds an annual parade and celebration in downtown Haverhill. The group also runs other events during the year, including a Trans Day of Visibility flag raising.

Haverhill Pride is a program of Haverhill Pride Collective, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that describes itself as a collective of activists, organizers and allies. Its goals reach beyond the yearly parade: advocating for legislative change, connecting queer residents with services and development opportunities, running educational workshops, and building ties with city government, businesses and other nonprofits. Year-round gatherings have included drag shows, movie nights, coffee talks and a book club.

The parade lines up at GAR Park, heads down Main Street, turns onto Merrimack Street and continues along Washington Street through downtown to Railroad Square. The route is about 0.7 miles on paved, ADA-compliant streets, with most public seating in Washington Square, and spectators may bring chairs. Leashed pets are welcome, and almost all events are open to all ages except the after party at Skyline Social.

A food and beer garden in Riverfront Park joins the downtown restaurants. Trained peacekeepers, EMS and the fire department are on hand, and the city requires officers from the police department's LGBTQ+ liaison unit. Tented cooling and water stations sit next to Creative Haverhill, and Wicked Big Cafe on Essex Street serves as a quiet zone. Restrooms are in City Hall at the start of the route, and MEVA offers free public transit.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 20, 2026. It usually falls third Saturday of June.
