Greater Lowell Pride

Greater Lowell Pride begins with a Progress Pride flag raising at Lowell City Hall and moves to an afternoon festival at Lowell Heritage State Park on Pawtucket Boulevard. The festival includes performances, artisan vendors, community organization tables, food trucks, and a youth area. It is organized by a committee led by the Greater Lowell Health Alliance with the City of Lowell.

The 2026 festival took place on Saturday, June 13, from 1 to 4 p.m., moved from its original June 6 date to avoid conflicting with Boston Pride. Beyond the celebration, the event connects people with resources for physical and mental health and youth engagement, and it gives local businesses and artists a place to reach new customers.

Attendance has grown each year, and roughly half of attendees now travel from outside Lowell and across eastern New England. Sponsors are recognized on signage, in print and digital promotions, online and from the stage, and sponsorships and donations can also be made anonymously.

The Greater Lowell Health Alliance brings together healthcare providers, business leaders, educators and civic leaders to improve community health. It led the 2025 Greater Lowell Community Health Needs Assessment, runs volunteer task forces on topics such as behavioral health, substance use and health equity, and has distributed more than $2.5 million in grants to local organizations.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

Greater Lowell Pride has included flag raising, festival, youth area and vendors.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 13, 2026. It usually falls a Saturday in June.
