About LA Pride
LA Pride is produced by Christopher Street West, the nonprofit founded in 1970 to stage what it describes as the world's first Pride parade. The 2026 edition, the 56th annual parade, was held on Hollywood Boulevard along with a Pride Village offering performances and community programming.
Christopher Street West organized the world's first permitted gay parade on June 28, 1970, to mark the anniversary of the Stonewall Rebellion in New York. In 2020 a placard honoring the organization and its three co-founders was installed at North McCadden Place. The LA Pride Parade and Festival is the oldest Pride celebration in Southern California and takes place on Hollywood Boulevard on the second weekend of June.
The Pride Village that follows the parade features a lineup of performers; in 2026 the headliner was Bentley Robles, and reality TV personality Candiace also joined the bill. In the weeks before the parade, the organization publishes a full lineup of community events and partnerships across Los Angeles.
Year-round, CSW runs free community programs, including Pride Makes a Difference donation and volunteer events, a Salon Series of panel discussions on LGBTQ+ issues, and Trans Self-Care Sunday, a free day of beauty and belonging for the trans community. It also supports events with partners such as the Getty Center, the Williams Institute at UCLA School of Law and the L.A. Zoo, and it runs a Youth Advisory Board for young activists. CSW is governed by an all-volunteer board of directors.
