Laurel Pride Day

Laurel Pride Day is a family-friendly celebration organized by the City of Laurel during LGBTQ+ History Month. The fifth annual Pride Day is on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at Laurel Lake in Granville Gude Park, with music, dancing, vendors, food and performances.

Laurel holds its Pride in October on purpose. Residents already have several established June festivals within reach, including those in Annapolis, Washington, D.C., and Baltimore, so a fall date lets Laurel mark LGBTQ+ History Month and stretch Pride beyond a single month. Organizers also see value in giving the city its own local, family-friendly event for LGBTQIA+ residents and their allies.

The celebration is funded through sponsorships at several levels, which cover event costs, along with individual donations. Local groups and businesses can reserve booths to share information or sell goods, and the organizers recruit volunteers each year to help run the day. The organizers want the event to reflect the diversity of the city's LGBTQIA+ residents and allies, and they share updates and ways to get involved on social media in the months before each year's celebration.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.
