Open Door Pride Festival

Open Door Pride Festival is Door County's Pride celebration at Martin Park in Sturgeon Bay. It features a DJ and live music, vendors, food trucks, games, an art tent, a raffle and silent auction, and community awards.

Open Door Pride is an all-volunteer organization supporting LGBTQIA+ people and allies in Door County, Wisconsin, under the motto We Know Who We Are in Door County: Small Towns, Local Impact. Beyond its annual events, the group works year-round on advocacy and allyship to make the county more welcoming for residents and visitors, and it relies on dozens of volunteers and community partners. It has been seeking new board members with nonprofit, outreach and advocacy experience.

The 10th annual festival in 2026 drew more than 3,000 people, and Midwest Living has named it among the top Pride celebrations in the Midwest. The program opened with a ceremony led by Coleen Bins of Chief Oshkosh, and the afternoon included an awards ceremony with proclamations, the Sandy Brown Award and an IDEA student scholarship, plus sets from local performers and the Door Community Choir. DJ Tim Walters played through the day.

Each summer the group also runs the We Know Who We Are campaign, a series of displays hung along Sturgeon Bay streets in partnership with Destination Sturgeon Bay. The artwork is by illustrator Keith Negley, and the displays are sponsored by local businesses and residents.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 27, 2026. It usually falls last Saturday of June.
