Sheboygan Pride Picnic

Sheboygan Pride Picnic is the Sheboygan County LGBTQ Alliance's annual Pride gathering at City Green downtown. It includes drag performances, community resources and food trucks.

The Sheboygan County LGBTQ Alliance works toward a county where everyone is treated with dignity and can live freely regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. Its stated goals are raising awareness of the LGBTQ+ community's diversity and supporting action for intersectional justice.

The Pride Picnic predates the Alliance. In summer 2019, two local high school seniors organized Sheboygan's first Pride event, a last-minute picnic at Fountain Park after the Saturday farmers market, and more than 100 people came to share food and watch drag performances. That same summer, a small group met at the Mental Health America office in Sheboygan to discuss forming an LGBTQ+ organization, surveyed more than 110 local LGBTQ+ residents, and in August 2019 held its first official event, a luncheon for community leaders at Paradigm, under the name Sexuality & Gender Identity Community Initiative.

Today the Alliance holds regular office hours and a Queer Fam Game Night at Paradigm Coffee & Music, and its plans range from community education, film screenings and CPR training to youth events, work with local GSAs, queer potlucks, plant swaps, a prom and outreach to LGBTQ+ elders.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 27, 2026. It usually falls late June.
