About Ottawa Family Pride Festival
The Ottawa Family Pride Festival is a family-friendly Pride day in downtown Ottawa in the Illinois Valley, run by the HumanKIND Initiative. It opens with the John Fisher Dann Memorial Pride Parade, followed by a festival in Washington Park and the Jordan Block.
The HumanKIND Initiative holds the Ottawa Family Pride Festival in downtown Ottawa, bringing vendors, artists and live music to the heart of the Illinois Valley for a full day. A family-friendly policy applies to everyone taking part, including parade entries.
The John Fisher Dann Memorial Pride Parade kicks off at 10 a.m., with lineup an hour earlier. Parade spots are limited and assigned first come, first served. In 2026 organizers began charging an entry fee to cover costs, $50 for general entries and $25 for schools and nonprofits, paid as tax-deductible donations to the Ottawa Family Pride Fund.
Food vendors, craft vendors and nonprofits can apply for booths. Sponsorships from businesses and individuals help expand the program, make events more accessible and equip volunteers, and volunteer roles are available both on festival day and through the year.
