Portales Family Pridefest

Family Pridefest is a free, family-oriented Pride afternoon at City Park in Portales in eastern New Mexico. It is organized by ENM Rising, which also hosts Pride chalk-art gatherings in Clovis and Portales.

Family Pridefest is organized by Eastern New Mexico Rising, a non-partisan progressive group founded in July 2022. It describes its work as promoting bodily autonomy, equality, diversity, human rights and civil liberties through dialogue, education and advocacy, and it offers people in rural eastern New Mexico a place for community action and social connection.

Members meet online and in person to discuss local issues and engage with city and county commissions, the state legislature and aligned national groups, from conversations with representatives to community education and peaceful protest. The group also supports local nonprofits such as the children's home, schools, domestic violence shelters and food banks. It is organized as a 501(c)(4), so contributions are not tax-deductible, and it sells Pride merchandise ahead of each year's slate of Pride events.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

Portales Family Pridefest has included festival and family activities.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 27, 2026. It usually falls late June.
