Santa Fe Pride (PRIDE on the Plaza)

Santa Fe Pride is produced by the Human Rights Alliance, a Santa Fe nonprofit that supports LGBTQ+ communities across Northern New Mexico and runs a PRIDE Center. The main day features a parade followed by a free festival on the historic Santa Fe Plaza. HRA also hosts talks and other events through June.

The Human Rights Alliance has worked for more than three decades to see that the rights of LGBTQ+ people across Northern New Mexico are recognized and protected. Its stated mission is to educate, engage, encourage and celebrate LGBTQ+ inclusion, pride and acceptance for all people, and its work runs along three tracks: events and culture, the PRIDE Center, and advocacy.

The PRIDE Center is HRA's physical home, offering counseling, youth programs, health access and a gathering place for the community. On the advocacy side, HRA works on policy, civic representation and coalition building, and its board chair publishes briefs, including one on research about how school policies affect the attendance and well-being of transgender, nonbinary and gender-expansive students.

In 2026 the Santa Fe Community Foundation gave HRA its Piñon Award for Courageous Innovation, recognizing its advocacy, education, community engagement and the PRIDE Center. Alongside the Pride festival, HRA hosts smaller neighborhood gatherings through the year, including performance nights at local venues such as Tumbleroot Brewery and Distillery.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 27, 2026. It usually falls last Saturday of June.
