Pride in the Park Shreveport

Pride in the Park is an all-ages LGBTQ+ festival in Shreveport's Columbia Park, presented by PACE Louisiana. It includes food trucks, local artists, live music, community activities, and a costume contest, and welcomes children and leashed pets.

PACE presented its first Pride in the Park in 2014, the first all-ages LGBTQ+ festival held in Shreveport. That first gathering brought together vendors, artists, information booths, entertainers, families and allies, and the event has returned each year since. Organizers frame it as a reminder, in a hard political climate, that queer joy and showing up for one another have always mattered.

The Show Your Pride costume contest takes place in the afternoon, and outfits must be family-friendly and are subject to approval by organizers. Extra parking is available at Robinson's Rescue. Pride merchandise sales support PACE, and queer artists who vend at the festival can be featured on the group's community resources page.

PACE is a nonpartisan organization working to advance equality in Northwest Louisiana so LGBTQ+ people can live openly and safely at home and at work. It pursues that goal through community education and constructive participation in the political process, including educating the public and candidates for office on LGBTQ+ issues and pressing for a society free from discrimination.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.
