About Rose City Pride
Rose City Pride is East Texas's largest Pride festival, held indoors at the W.T. Brookshire Conference Center in Tyler by Tyler Area Gays+. The daytime event has more than 100 vendors, drag performances, free health testing and a free clothing closet run by a local youth resource center.
Rose City Pride is organized by Tyler Area Gays, known as TAG, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in May 2008 to serve gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people and straight allies in East Texas. TAG works to educate the public on issues affecting LGBT people and their families, to eliminate prejudice, discrimination, isolation and bullying, and to raise awareness of the need to defend human and civil rights.
The organization describes itself as grounded in community and strength in numbers, a place where people can be themselves without fear and share knowledge and support with one another. Its values include respect for the dignity of all people, mutual trust, hospitality, honest communication and education. Donations fund TAG's education, outreach and advocacy programs.
