About SMTX Pride

SMTX Pride is San Marcos's annual Pride celebration, held in September so that college students have returned. It opens with a short morning parade along East Martin Luther King Drive followed by a festival with vendors and community booths. The parade began in 2014 and was organized by creative director Sylvia Sandoval.

What to expect

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.
