Wimberley Pride March

Wimberley Pride organizes an annual Pride march in the Hill Country town of Wimberley. Marchers assemble at the Wimberley Community Center and walk to Oak Park and Welcome Center, where the march ends with speakers and a DJ. The organization also hosts mixers and after-parties.

Wimberley Pride was established in 2019 with its first march, which drew more than 900 LGBTQ+ people and allies. The 501(c)(3) works to advance LGBTQ+ rights and prevent discrimination based on sexuality, gender identity, ability, color and religion, and it partners with local businesses, schools, churches and other nonprofits. The 2026 march carried the theme Onward Not Backward.

The march is held each year on a third Saturday, and anyone can take part, either by walking or by watching along the way. Individuals and groups of friends can simply show up, while businesses, nonprofits and political campaigns register in advance. Volunteers help organize the weekend.

The organization also works with local youth, providing grants, donations and support for LGBTQ+ young people. Wimberley Youth Pride serves as its liaison to local schools and churches.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.
