Tampa Pride

Tampa Pride organizes an annual Pride festival and Diversity Parade in Tampa, along with related events such as an interfaith service. In August 2025 its board announced a one-year hiatus of the festival, parade and all affiliated events for 2026, citing sponsorship and funding challenges. The 2025 festival and parade were held on March 29, 2025.

In announcing the pause, the Tampa Pride board pointed to trouble securing corporate sponsors, cuts in county, state and federal grant funding, and the end of DEI programs in Florida. It said the break would give the organization time to regroup, rethink its long-term strategy and find new funding. The announcement also thanked Carrie, who had served as Tampa Pride's president for the previous 12 years.

In past years the events took place in the spring in historic Ybor City, which organizers also call the GaYBOR District. The Diversity Parade headed east on East Seventh Avenue from Nuccio Parkway to North 20th Street. The street festival, held with HCC's Ybor campus, included an arts and crafts show, a community health fair and an entrepreneurs area, with a main stage in the Cuban Club courtyard that opened with the Tampa Bay Pride Band and guest speakers.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

Tampa Pride has included festival, diversity parade and interfaith service.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. The 2026 edition was cancelled. It usually falls late March.
