Gainesville Pride Festival

The Gainesville Pride Festival is organized by the Pride Community Center of North Central Florida and held at Bo Diddley Plaza in downtown Gainesville. The afternoon and evening festival features local vendors, performers and community organizations.

The Pride Community Center of North Central Florida has organized the Gainesville Pride Festival since 2001, working with the City of Gainesville, Visit Gainesville/Alachua County, the Gainesville Community Reinvestment Area and many local businesses and organizations. The center's mission is to support the well-being and visibility of LGBTQ+ people and other gender and sexual minorities and to promote public understanding and affirmation across race, ethnicity, nationality, income, spirituality, age and ability.

The 2026 festival is set for Saturday, October 3, at Bo Diddley Plaza. Vendor spaces are offered in three categories, commercial businesses, food and beverage vendors and nonprofit organizations, and they tend to fill quickly. Musicians, bands, drag performers and other entertainers apply separately to appear on the program. The center recently moved into a new home and is raising money to secure it.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.
