Dunedin Pride

Dunedin Pride is a series of events held over about 25 days in late May and June in Dunedin, hosted by local small businesses and Dunedin Pride Inc. The season begins with Family Pride Day in the Park and includes drag brunches, a golf cart parade, a Dunedin Blue Jays Pride game, an art show and a pool party.

Pride in Dunedin began nearly 10 years ago as Northern Pinellas Pride, which brought new visibility to the LGBTQIA+ community in the area. After years of growth, the events have moved to an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Dunedin Pride Inc., which credits the community and the City of Dunedin with helping bring Pride to town. Organizers also credit the many individuals who helped shape the welcoming character of the city over that time.

Organizers say the change lets them widen their reach and build more community-driven programming that supports and connects people throughout the year, with a focus on inclusion and community engagement. Family Pride Day in the Park on May 31, 2026, served as the kickoff for the new organization. Kimberly Platt is president and Jason Gernat is vice president.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

Dunedin Pride has included family pride day in the park, golf cart parade, drag brunches, pride baseball game, art show and pool party.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held May 30 to June 23, 2026. It usually falls late May through June.
