Tri-State Black Pride

Tri-State Black Pride is a four-day celebration of Black LGBTQ+ people in Memphis. The 2026 All-Star Weekend on June 18 to 21 marked its 10th anniversary, with an opening reception, educational sessions and a job fair, a ball, a drag brunch, a pool party and a closing music festival and awards.

Tri-State Black Pride is a program of The Cathedral Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) charity that supports education, health, culture and social services so people of all backgrounds can build healthy, productive lives. The foundation was founded by Dr. Darnell Gooch Jr., its president and CEO, and co-founded by Dr. Davin D. Clemons, its vice president and CFO. It is governed by an unpaid professional board with help from volunteers and committee members.

The Center for Black Equity has recognized Tri-State Black Pride as the official host of Black Pride events for Memphis. That designation followed a four-month review that looked at the organization's capacity, community support and commitment to the center's mission, and included an interview with the foundation and conversations with members of Memphis's Black LGBTQ community.

The Pride's mission is to showcase unity and pride by promoting equity, inclusion, human rights, education, outreach, arts and culture for LGBTQ people and allies across Memphis and the Mid-South. Beyond the June weekend, it lists Pride events in the Memphis area throughout the year and invites people to volunteer, donate, perform or sponsor. An All Access Party Pass has been offered for the weekend's events.

Black Pride events center Black LGBTQ+ people. Many run over a long weekend, with parties, panels, health and wellness programs and community gatherings.

Tri-State Black Pride has included opening reception, job fair, ball, drag brunch, pool party and music festival.

The next edition is June 17-20, 2027. It usually falls third weekend of June (Juneteenth weekend).
