Vegas Black Pride

Vegas Black Pride is a wellness-centered Black LGBTQ+ Pride weekend in Las Vegas produced by Reclaiming Us, a Black Pride wellness movement.

Vegas Black Pride was created in 2018 by Johanna P. Perez, and it has gone by earlier names including Vegas Urban Pride and Vegas Pride Block Party. Its purpose was to make space for Black LGBTQ+ culture, visibility and wellness and to create a Pride where everyone could celebrate together without judgment. In its first year the City of Las Vegas proclaimed October 25 as Johanna P. Perez Day in recognition of the work.

What started as a three-day celebration for more than 500 people has grown into year-round work supporting Black LGBTQ+ wellness, including HIV testing and prevention, community care and pathways to healing. The event is now a program of Reclaiming Us, which is building a wider movement for healthier Black communities across city and state lines, and it is in its sixth annual year.

Black Pride events center Black LGBTQ+ people. Many run over a long weekend, with parties, panels, health and wellness programs and community gatherings.

Vegas Black Pride has included wellness weekend and community events.

The next edition is October 23-25, 2026. It usually falls late October.
