Pride of Southern Utah (Pride in the Park)

Pride of Southern Utah is a nonprofit that holds the region's main Pride celebration in St. George each September. Pride in the Park is a free, all-ages festival at JC Snow Park with live performances, food trucks, and local vendors. The weekend also includes the Dragalicious fundraiser at the Dixie Convention Center and a 21-and-over after party.

Pride of Southern Utah is a nonprofit that works for visibility, connection and inclusion for LGBTQIA+ people across the region, guided by the belief that everyone in the community deserves to be seen, secure and supported. It currently serves Washington and Iron counties, with most events in St. George, Hurricane, Springdale and Cedar City. It also keeps ties with Pride groups in Kane and Garfield counties and in Mohave County, Arizona, and invites people who want a chapter in their own town to get in touch.

The organization's work goes well beyond Pride weekend. It follows state and local legislation with partner groups and keeps the community informed, and it identifies and shares affirming businesses, medical practices and social workers. It also hosts and supports events that give LGBTQIA+ people safe places to gather, including a prom, and it encourages volunteering and collaboration with like-minded groups.

Pride weekend in September combines longtime traditions such as the Dragalicious fundraiser with new events. Through Project Rainbow, people can reserve a Pride flag that volunteers place in their yard for the week and then pick up afterward. Merchandise sales, including shirts, stickers and hats, help fund the group's programs and outreach, and vendors, performers, volunteers and sponsors can apply online.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.
