Wichita Pride Festival

The Wichita Pride Festival is the centerpiece of Wichita's Pride weekend, opening after the Pride Parade at the Century II Performing Arts and Convention Center with entertainment, local vendors, and food. Wichita Pride also organizes events throughout the year.

The Wichita Pride Parade follows a route of about a mile, starting on Main Street in front of the Historic Sedgwick County Courthouse, heading south to Douglas and turning right to end in front of Century II. Every parade participant must wear a Pride button, which can be bought at lineup. The festival that follows draws thousands of community members, organizations and businesses, with food and drinks served inside the venue by Century II, a main stage lineup, vendors, interactive activations and an interactive online Pride guide.

Wichita Pride says safety is its top priority and coordinates closely with the Wichita Police Department on a security plan for its events. Its bylaws commit to a space free from discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, religion, race, veteran status and other characteristics.

The group organizes events through the year. In 2026 its fall calendar included a Unity March from City Hall to Riverside Park, ending with a family picnic, and its second annual kickball tournament at Southwest Boys Club.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.
