Pride of Woodstock

Pride of Woodstock is a volunteer-run weekend of events in the village of Woodstock that began in 2024. It has included a high heel race, a Made with Pride arts and crafts fair, a drag brunch, and dances. It is a project of the Woodstock Community Trust.

Pride of Woodstock began in May 2023, when a group of residents talking about a local Pride event asked why Woodstock should not have one. Research and conversations with neighbors showed strong support, and a volunteer committee formed to organize it. The event is a project of the Woodstock Community Trust.

The first year drew more than 400 visitors to the village, including tourists from as far away as California, which convinced organizers to make it an annual celebration. Programming has grown to include movies, comedy and dancing alongside the high heel race and brunch, and a recent program featured a screening of the documentary Claim The Lane: Becoming Roxy. Donations help keep the events accessible to everyone. Organizers say the weekend met its main goal of welcoming and supporting LGBTQ+ people while drawing local residents in as participants.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 4-6, 2026. It usually falls early June weekend.
