Bennington Pride

Bennington Pride is organized by Queer Connect. A Pride march travels down Main Street through the Four Corners, followed by a family-friendly block party at the Splash Pad with performances on the Thomson Stage.

Queer Connect, the volunteer-run nonprofit behind Bennington Pride, was founded by Lisa Carton and became a 501(c)(3) in April 2019. The group says local LGBTQ+ youth pushed it into action by telling organizers they needed to see queer adults out in public, and it held the first Bennington Pride Weekend that June. Its mission centers on visibility and resources for LGBTQIA+ people and families in and around Bennington, with particular attention to queer youth, and it describes an intersectional approach to its programs.

The march starts at 11 a.m. at Hemmings on Main Street, passes through the Four Corners and ends at the TD Bank entrance. Queer Connect frames it as a nod to Pride's roots as a civil rights demonstration and a reminder that the push for equal rights continues.

The block party fills the Splash Pad area and nearby streets from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Thomson Stage hosts live music, speakers and hosts, and there is programming designed for younger attendees. Organizations working on LGBTQIA+ rights, social justice and community support set up tables to talk with visitors, and food vendors include meat-free choices.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

Bennington Pride has included march, block party and drag bingo.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 27, 2026. It usually falls last Saturday of June.
