CNY Pride Parade and Festival

CNY Pride holds a parade along Solar Street followed by a festival at Progress Park in Syracuse's Inner Harbor, with local vendors, food trucks and all-ages entertainment. It is one of the largest LGBTQ+ events in Central New York.

CNY Pride, Inc. produces the Pride parade and festival in Syracuse, and the festival is free to attend. In 2026 the organization lost about 30 percent of its corporate sponsorship and turned to community donations to make up the difference. Donations pay for the stages, tents, chairs, restrooms and security that keep the weekend safe and accessible, and part of the proceeds from CNY Pride merchandise also goes toward the parade and festival.

Each year CNY Pride names grand marshals to honor advocates and leaders who have strengthened the LGBTQIA+ community across Central New York. The 2026 weekend opened with a kickoff party that included a meet and greet with drag performer Heidi N Closet, and the organization lists more Pride events on its calendar through the rest of June. The group credits its volunteers, sponsors, vendors and performers with making the festival possible, and it shares photos and updates through its newsletter.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.
