Oswego County Pride Festival

Oswego County Pride works to create a safe space for LGBTQ+ people and allies and holds an annual Pride festival in Oswego. The 2026 festival took place in July at Breitbeck Park on the lakefront.

Oswego County Pride is run by and for residents of Oswego County, with the aim of neighbors lifting each other up. The group works toward equality and unity in the county through outreach, advocacy and education, and it wants every member of the community treated with dignity and respect. The organization grew out of the earlier Oswego Pride and broadened its name and focus to cover the whole county.

Its volunteer committee reflects the community it serves. Shannon, of Fulton, works in healthcare operations and also volunteers with Fulton Block Builders and her local high school's site-based team. Her husband Todd got involved to support their son. Another committee member has performed in the festival's stage show since its first year, led children's activities for several years, and hosts drag benefit shows for local charities as Xandra Dee. Perci, who moved to Oswego in 2019, brings a focus on civil rights and community building.

Beyond the summer festival, the group has launched a Discord server so LGBTQ+ residents and allies across the county can connect year-round. It also made its first donation to a local organization, the Oswego YMCA, and it welcomes businesses interested in sponsoring the festival.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held July 11, 2026. It usually falls july (the seed list showed September in earlier years).
