About Coos County Pride in the Park

Coos County Pride in the Park is Southern Oregon Coast Pride's annual family-friendly day festival at Mingus Park in Coos Bay. It offers a free community meal, activities for all ages, vendors, and entertainment.

Southern Oregon Coast Pride holds Pride in the Park festivals in both Coos and Curry counties. The Coos County event in 2026 ran from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, at Mingus Park, 230 North 10th Street.

Sponsors cover the cost of a free community meal at both celebrations, and the menu includes vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options. Entertainment has included a live DJ, line dance lessons, lip sync battles and live performances, and a large group of vendors and community resource tables fills the park. Local businesses, organizations and projects can apply to table.

Each year the group presents an award named for Salli B Goode, also known as Alan Brown, who was central to founding Southern Oregon Coast Pride. The award honors community members who have gone above and beyond for the local 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
