Bend Summer Pride

Bend Summer Pride is a volunteer-run afternoon gathering in Drake Park. The 2026 edition was a low-key community picnic with food carts, acoustic sets, drag pop-ups, and lawn games.

Bend Summer Pride is produced by Bend Pride Inc., which is run by a core team of three volunteers. The group has been open about scaling the event back: with costs rising and volunteer time stretched thin, it chose to return to a simple afternoon in Drake Park rather than a large produced festival, and it plans to let the event grow over time based on what the community says it needs.

The idea is to hand the day back to the people who attend. Visitors are encouraged to bring blankets, picnic and organize their own gatherings on the lawn, and pets and chosen family are welcome. There is no heavy program; the afternoon is built around informal time together.

Community members can still take part in several ways. Performers of any kind, including acoustic musicians, drag artists and spoken word artists, can sign up to appear. Local artists and community groups can host outreach tables, which are meant for connection rather than sales. Volunteers can help with the youth space or lend a hand on the day without committing to long shifts, and anyone interested in a bigger role in shaping future Prides can reach out through the group's interest forms.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 6, 2026. It usually falls early June.
