Fox Chapel Pride in the Park

FC Pride in the Park is a free, ticketed evening Pride celebration for the Fox Chapel area, held at Allegheny RiverTrail Park in Aspinwall and run by a volunteer advisory board.

FC Pride in the Park is built for LGBTQIA+ young people and their families. Held each June and in its sixth year in 2026, it has grown from a small neighborhood gathering into one of the few youth-centered Pride events in the Pittsburgh area, with more than 800 guests a year. It is a volunteer-run grassroots group fiscally sponsored by Aspinwall Neighbors, a 501(c)(3), and its board includes parents in the Fox Chapel Area School District, local residents and a high school GSA leader.

Everything on the program is free: music, drag performances, arts and crafts, games, a craft vendor fair, a banned book swap, a clothing swap and a resource fair connecting families with LGBTQIA+-affirming local organizations. Food and drinks are sold on site, and guests may also bring their own. Advance registration is not required but helps with planning, and organizers note that every $10 donated covers one guest for four hours of activities. Student volunteers can have their hours certified.

Most of Allegheny RiverTrail Park is wheelchair accessible, though part of the pavilion is hard to enter, so activities there are kept to a minimum, and the dock and river overlook are reached by the path near the slides. Accessible spaces are in the main lot, with more held in a closed-off lot if needed. Because on-site parking fills quickly, organizers suggest walking, biking or carpooling, or parking in the Aspinwall Merchant Lot after 6 p.m., the municipal lot on Commercial Avenue, or on Freeport Road, Brilliant Avenue and Commercial Avenue.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 29, 2026. It usually falls late June, weekday evening.
