Carlisle Pride

Carlisle Pride is a committee that works to uplift and support the LGBTQ+ community in Carlisle and the surrounding area through visibility and celebration.

Carlisle Pride is run by a committee of local people who want Carlisle to be an affirming, accepting and safe place. They see visibility and community as forces for change and healing, and they welcome everyone regardless of background, orientation or identity.

Rather than a single day, Carlisle celebrates with a full week of events each June. The week has included a Pride Proclamation Ceremony, pool parties, a Big Gay Walk and drag shows, with individual events hosted by different organizations, businesses or people. Questions about a particular event go to its host, and general questions go to info@carlislepride.com.

The organizers' FAQ covers practical points. Straight and cisgender allies are welcome and are asked to attend as respectful guests. Whether an event suits children varies, so parents are encouraged to read each description and ask the hosts. Volunteer photographers work the events and images may be used for promotion, so anyone who prefers not to be photographed should say so. Parking differs by venue and can be limited, and walking is encouraged where possible.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 6, 2026. It usually falls early June.
