Greensboro Pride Festival and Parade

Greensboro Pride is produced by the nonprofit IMPAQT GSO in downtown Greensboro. For its 20th anniversary on September 12, 2026, it added the city's first Greensboro Pride Parade along Elm Street, followed by a free festival at LeBauer Park with a main stage, an entertainment stage, a kids zone, food trucks and vendors.

Greensboro Pride is produced by IMPAQT GSO, a nonprofit focused on the emotional and social well-being of LGBTQIA+ people in Greensboro. The organization traces its roots to Alternative Resources of the Triad, founded in 1988 by Katheryn Smith, a former executive director of the Triad Health Project. An anonymous $1,000 gift funded that group's first event, a Lesbian Health Fair, and it soon launched the Gay and Lesbian Hotline of the Triad.

The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. across a walkable downtown footprint that includes N. Church Street, N. Davie Street, E. Lindsay Street and E. Friendly Avenue. The Main Stage features headliners, while the Entertainer Stage showcases local and emerging artists, and performers can apply through an entertainment application. A Pride Week of events leads up to festival day.

The KidZone offers crafts and activities for young people under 21 and their families and is free of tobacco, drugs and alcohol. A separate section for guests 18 and older carries vendors with adult themes. A ticketed All Access VIP Lounge in an air-conditioned indoor venue near the main stage offers seating, private restrooms, a catered lunch, and beer and wine.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.
