About Morton Grove Pride in the Park
Morton Grove's Pride in the Park is a free, family-friendly evening event at the north end of Harrer Park. It includes local food vendors, information tables, kids' activities such as face painting, live music and country line dancing lessons.
Pride in the Park was first held in 2026, produced by the Morton Grove Park District as part of the village's Morton Grove Has Pride initiative, which celebrates the local LGBTQ+ community with events through the year. The park district has served Morton Grove, about 10 miles northwest of Chicago, since 1951 and today runs 14 parks and ten facilities for a community of about 23,000.
The first edition featured singer Kelsey Montanez, known for a mix of blues, pop and psychedelia, along with the Second City Outlaws, an inclusive country dance troupe that teaches easy line dances to the crowd. The evening also included kids' activities, information tables and food vendors. No registration is needed, and in case of severe weather the event is moved to a rain date the following week.
