About Otsego PrideFest
PrideFest is the Otsego Pride Alliance's annual Pride celebration in Oneonta's Neahwa Park. The alliance also awards a memorial scholarship and runs community programs through the year.
Otsego Pride Alliance began in March 2017 as Oneonta Pride, a small group of local organizers who wanted to hold a Pride festival for Oneonta and nearby towns. They hoped for a couple hundred people, and more than 500 came. That response led the group to grow into the county-wide alliance that runs the festival today.
The alliance works to support the LGBTQIA+ community in the Otsego County area, raise awareness of its needs and create safe places where people, along with their friends, families and allies, can be themselves. Its work includes community outreach and activism alongside the yearly festival.
PrideFest is described as a family-friendly event, and each year carries a theme. The 2026 theme spelled out PRIDE as Power, Resistance, Intersectionality, Dignity and Existence, a response to the loss of rights in many states, while 2025 focused on queer love. The festival is supported by donors, sponsors and volunteers.
