Provincetown Pride

Provincetown Pride is a four-day celebration organized by the Provincetown Business Guild in the Cape Cod town long known as an LGBTQ+ destination. The weekend includes a Pride Market and rally at Town Hall, a 'Sashay to Tea' parade down Commercial Street, a queer comedy showcase, dance parties, and a Pride 5K. Many outdoor events are free, while some shows and parties are ticketed.

The Provincetown Business Guild, founded in 1978, is a membership group of more than 300 shops, galleries, restaurants, inns, nightclubs, nonprofits and other businesses. Its mission is to promote LGBTQ+ tourism and support local businesses, and it also produces Carnival in August and Holly Folly and First Light in December. The guild oversees the Provincetown Pride Center at 115 Bradford Street.

The free Pride Market fills Town Hall with LGBTQ+ artisans and vendors and a cash bar. The rally on the Town Hall steps leads into a short Sashay to Tea procession to a tea dance at The Boatslip. The Queer Comedy Showcase at Town Hall has been hosted by local comic Kristen Becker, with tickets sold at the door.

Other events have included a kickoff dance party at the Red Room, a dance party at the A-House, one of the first discos in the country, and a ticketed bingo afternoon at the Governor Bradford hosted by Paige Turner. The Pride 5K follows the full length of Commercial Street, once called Front Street, from the Harbor Hotel in the East End to the Provincetown Inn in the West End. Bay State Cruise Co. has run an official Pride crossing from Boston.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

Provincetown Pride has included parade, rally, pride market, comedy show, dance parties, 5k and flag raising.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 4-7, 2026. It usually falls first weekend of June (Thursday to Sunday).
