Rockville Pride

Rockville Pride is a free, all-ages celebration on The Square in Rockville Town Center, organized by the City of Rockville's Human Rights Commission. The event is wheelchair accessible. The 2026 edition was held on Sunday afternoon, June 7.

Rockville Pride is organized by the city's Human Rights Commission, an 11-member body appointed by the Mayor and Council under the Rockville City Code. The commission works to reduce conflict and promote diversity through services and educational and cultural programs, and it advises city leaders on human rights issues. Its other programs include voter registration and education, a Student Ambassador Program for high school students, a multimedia scholarship competition and a Martin Luther King Jr. celebration.

The city has issued proclamations recognizing LGBTQ+ Pride Month every June since 2017, framing the month as a remembrance of the 1969 Stonewall Riots and of LGBTQ+ contributions to history at every level. Community members are invited to attend the commission's monthly meetings and apply for open seats, and donations to support Rockville Pride can be made through the city.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.
