About San Bernardino County Black Pride
San Bernardino County Black Pride is a wellness-centered Black Pride weekend produced by Reclaiming Us, a Black LGBTQ+ youth advocacy group. The inaugural 2026 weekend included a brunch, a family wellness day, youth workshops, and a Free Mom Hugs event.
San Bernardino County Black Pride was founded by Johanna P. Perez, who created Vegas Black Pride in 2018 with the aim of bringing straight and LGBTQ+ communities together. She brought that vision home to the Inland Empire with the belief that visibility belongs everywhere, including San Bernardino County.
The event was created so that Black LGBTQ+ people could be seen and celebrated, their families cared for, and youth and adults experiencing homelessness connected with advocacy, resources and support. Produced by Reclaiming Us, it is building a lasting regional platform around what it calls Pride Wellness, combining celebration, connection, resources and community care across the Inland Empire. Beyond the weekend, the group does community outreach and recruits volunteers to help. The organizers describe their approach as showing up with care, culture and connection.
