Pride on the Promenade (SaMo Pride)

Pride on the Promenade is Santa Monica's Pride celebration on the Third Street Promenade, part of the city's month-long SaMo Pride program. It includes community booths, games, family activities, and a drag brunch.

SaMo Pride was set up in 2019 as a citywide partnership between the City of Santa Monica, Downtown Santa Monica, Inc., the Santa Monica Pier, Santa Monica Place, Santa Monica Travel and Tourism and Main Street Santa Monica. The city officially designates June as LGBTQ+ Pride Month, and the program aims to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, champion individuality and acceptance and increase understanding of the full range of gender identities and experiences.

The month focuses on art, events for all ages and community connection, with programming spread across the Promenade, the Pier, Santa Monica Place and Main Street. Events have also reached venues such as The Crow inside Bergamot Station Arts Center, which hosted an all-queer stand-up comedy show. In 2024 Santa Monica earned a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign's Municipal Equality Index. In 2026, Pride on the Promenade was held on Saturday, June 13.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 13, 2026. It usually falls a Saturday in mid-June.
