Say It Loud! BIPOC Pride

Say It Loud BIPOC Pride is In Our Own Voices' celebration of LGBTQ+ Black, Indigenous and People of Color in the Capital Region, held in Albany's Washington Park. The day features a main stage of performers, vendors, a makers market and activities for kids. 2026 marked 20 years since the first edition.

In Our Own Voices, Inc. created Say It Loud as a space for LGBTQ+ Black, Indigenous and People of Color in the Capital Region, where the organization says its communities face unemployment, medical racism, transphobia, homophobia, housing instability and criminalization. The event is meant to offer culturally specific care, protection and healing.

While performers take the stage, the organization provides health screenings, HIV testing, mental health support, harm reduction supplies, housing navigation, food access and job connections. Its Health and Wellness Expo is a central part of the day, bringing in trusted providers who offer culturally responsive care, and outside organizations can take part as exhibitors.

The 2026 lineup featured New Orleans bounce artist Big Freedia and Broadway and recording star Jennifer Holliday, known for her Tony and Grammy winning role as Effie White in Dreamgirls, along with an MC and DJ hosting the day.

Black Pride events center Black LGBTQ+ people. Many run over a long weekend, with parties, panels, health and wellness programs and community gatherings.

Say It Loud! BIPOC Pride has included festival, market, performances and kids activities.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 13, 2026. It usually falls second Saturday in June, the day before Capital Pride.
