SOFLX Pride Festival Weekend

SOFLX Pride holds a Pride festival weekend in Corning's Gaffer District with performances, local artists, community vendors, food, music and dancing. The organization has worked since 2019 on youth resources, education and inclusive celebration in the Southern Finger Lakes. 2026 was the seventh annual festival.

Southern Finger Lakes Pride began as a grassroots effort in 2019. Its mission focuses on 2SLGBTQIA+ youth and their loved ones: connecting them with affirming resources, building acceptance through education and creating chances for inclusive celebration. Corning Inc. is a major supporter of the festival and the group's Bloom programs.

Year-round work includes Camp Fruit Fly, which has offered full or partial scholarships to campers for three summers, queer and trans support groups, an 18-and-over support group for adults, a Queer Club, and partnerships with GATLAS and local libraries that now bring Saturday Night Pride to Odessa, Watkins, Hector and Montour Falls. Camp and community activities have included creek walks, shared meals and a queer elders campfire.

The 2026 festival weekend opened Friday, June 12, with Bloom Under the Moon, followed by the street festival on Saturday, June 13. The lineup included Maddy Walsh and the Blind Spots, DJ RVMBA, Janice DonDero, Mocha La Queen, Ace_Symmetrical, Sunny Weathers and Trisha LaMorre. Organizers frame the festival as both a celebration and a time to learn about the people, particularly transgender women of color, who fought back at Stonewall.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 12-13, 2026. It usually falls second weekend of June.
