WeHo Pride

WeHo Pride is the City of West Hollywood's Pride weekend, held in and around West Hollywood Park and along Santa Monica Boulevard. It includes a free street fair, the ticketed OUTLOUD music festival, the Women's Freedom Festival, a Dyke March, and a Sunday parade. The city traces Pride celebrations in West Hollywood back to 1979.

WeHo Pride opens each year on Harvey Milk Day, May 22, honoring the first openly LGBTQ+ person elected to public office in California, with the José Julio Sarria Drag Pageant. Pride Month continues with the WeHo Pride Arts Festival and other events, and in 2026 the city added a Pride pickleball tournament at Plummer Park and West Hollywood Park and new programs including a sober Pride offering called Camp OUT.

During Pride weekend, the free street fair along Santa Monica Boulevard has exhibitors and two community stages, and healthcare agencies offer free services on site. Friday Night at OUTLOUD is free with advance registration. The Dyke March, led by motorcycles, begins right after the Women's Freedom Festival, which features emerging LGBTQ+ and BIPOC women and nonbinary musicians, comedians, poets and activists. The parade runs on Santa Monica Boulevard between Crescent Heights and San Vicente boulevards, and venues across the Rainbow District along historic Route 66 host their own Pride events.

The city ties its Pride to local history, including the 1967 police raids on the Black Cat and New Faces bars and the 1970 founding of Christopher Street West to stage a parade marking Stonewall. Pride was held in Hollywood through most of the 1970s before moving to West Hollywood, five years before the city was incorporated.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

WeHo Pride has included parade, street fair, music festival, dyke march and women's festival.

WeHo Pride was first held in 1979. Organizers reported hundreds of thousands people in null.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 5-7, 2026. It usually falls first weekend of June.
