Westminster Pride Festival

The Westminster Pride Festival is a free LGBTQ+ celebration in Carroll County, held in 2026 on July 11 at Westminster City Park. It offers information and support resources, music, art, food and vendor booths. The organizing fund also runs scholarships for LGBTQ+ students and a discount program with local businesses.

The Westminster Pride Festival Fund was created to keep a yearly festival going in Carroll County, offering information, support, music, art and food along with solidarity between LGBTQ+ people, allies and the wider community. The fund aims for the festival to be a safe space where people can express their sexual and gender identities, increase visibility and build respect.

Proceeds from the Rainbow Pass, a discount card with deals from local businesses, go toward the festival and an annual scholarship. The scholarship recognizes students who champion inclusion and acceptance, with $3,000 for the first-place recipient and $1,000 for second place, and it is open to LGBTQ+ high school students and allies. The festival also invites singers, dancers, comedians and other performers to apply for a spot on its lineup, with space limited.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.
